Grand Old Partisan spotlights a notable event in New York City. One of the GOP’s most venerable institutions is the Women's National Republican Club. It was founded by suffragist Henrietta Wells Livermore, with an original membership of five hundred.

February 17th 1921, their first meeting was held, at a Manhattan loft. Three years later, President Calvin Coolidge dedicated a permanent facility nearby. Babe Ruth and other celebrities cheered his arrival.
