Grand Old Partisan spotlights the first musical performance by an African-American at a presidential inauguration. January 21st 1957, Marian Anderson sang the national anthem.

This famous opera star had been invited by President Dwight Eisenhower. He named her a delegate to the United Nations. His administration clashed with Democrat segregationists and enacted the first federal civil rights legislation in many decades.
