Grand Old Partisan salutes David Hollingsworth, born in Ohio, November 21st 1844. Outbreak of civil war, the teen patriot enlisted in the state’s 25th infantry. His regiment battled at Chancellorsville and Gettysburg.
Peace restored, the next step was studying law. Hollingsworth served as small town mayor, then county prosecutor. In 1878, he won the first of two state senate terms. He chaired an Ohio GOP convention. A governor named him attorney general. His political career concluded with three terms in the U.S. House of Representatives.
