Yesterday, the DC Republican Party held its annual Lincoln-Douglass dinner, keynoted by Rep. Pete Sessions. The event was a huge success. It was thrilling to be among so many friends united in a good cause.
The crowd gave a standing ovation to DC Republican chair Bob Kabel, in recognition of his steadfast dedication to our Grand Old Party. He is now a candidate for Republican National Committeeman, a post at which he'd certainly be just as successful.
Another highlight of the evening was the presidential straw poll. The results speak for themselves:
72% Mitt Romney
8.7% Newt Gingrich
8.1% Ron Paul
8.1% Rick Santorum
