"I saw the previews for Lincoln. I will watch it to see if they actually get history right! Especially the history of the REPUBLICAN PARTY. Will the left-wing of Hollywood really show that Republicans supported the freedom of slaves, that the Radical Republicans started it all? Michael Zak has an awesome book, called Back to Basics for the Republican Party. Trust and believe I will be comparing the two!!!!
Please get Michael Zak's book! It is money worth spent. My copy is worn and highlighted. I have given this book as gifts! It tells the TRUTH and does not spin. I know this movie will not be factual. As a American who happens to be black, I feel myself getting pissed off."
Another insightful person added:
"It truly angered me when Obama tried to co-op Lincoln. The Democrats were the slave owner party and the Ku Klux Klan party until -- very recently, as in Senator Robert Byrd (D-WV) recently."
It is indeed disconcerting that millions of movie-goers will soon get another dose of Democrat spin about the greatest of all Republicans. Lincoln is directed by a Democrat, written by a Democrat, produced by Democrats, and based on a book by a Democrat.
"The Republicans inculcate, with whatever of ability — they can, that the negro is a man; that his bondage is cruelly wrong, and that the field of his oppression ought not to be enlarged. The Democrats deny his manhood; deny, or dwarf to insignificance, the wrong of his bondage; so far as possible, crush all sympathy for him, and cultivate and excite hatred and disgust against him; compliment themselves as Union-savers for doing so; and call the indefinite outspreading of his bondage "a sacred right of self-government." Abraham Lincoln
Back to Basics for the Republican Party is my pro-GOP history of the GOP. I wrote the book to teach Republicans the history of the Republican Party from the Republican point of view. See the Grand Old Partisan website -- www.grandoldpartisan.com for more information.
