This weekend, Grand Old Partisan canvassed a neighborhood in Staten Island for New York City's stellar first-term congressman, Michael Grimm. Reactions from residents tended to be favor of Grimm. "Re-elect Michael Grimm signs" abound in the area, while signs for his opponent are few. Most people also seem to support Romney-Ryan and the GOP state assemby candidates.
The trip had been organized by the DC Young Republicans. Here, they reverently fold the U.S.flag displayed outside the Grimm campaign HQ.
Get Out The Vote efforts like this -- the GOP ground game -- will be key to victory in November.
On the drive there through New Jersey, I had a photo op (sort of) with Gov. Chris Christie.
