The sponsors of today's RNC chairman's debate -- Americans for Tax Reform, The Daily Caller and The Susan B. Anthony List produced a superb event, which went even more smoothly than the debate two years ago.
Plenty of bloggers are commenting on each candidate's performance, so rather than add one more voice to the din I'll just note that the Republican Party is well-served by such an open, grassroots-friendly procedure.
I had the honor of speaking with all five candidates -- Reince Priebus, Michael Steele, Maria Cino, Saul Anuzis and Ann Wagner -- as well as many friends on the RNC including Dee Dee Benkie, Sharon Day, Ron Nehring, Louis Pope and Betsy Werronen, and also with hosts Grover Norquist, Tucker Carlson and Marjorie Dannenfelser. It was gratifying to hear so much appreciation for my efforts to celebrate the heritage of our Grand Old Party.
