Senator Edward Brooke, African-American Republican
Grand Old Partisan salutes Edward Brooke (R-MA) on his 88th birthday.
Brooke served as an infantry captain during the Second World War and then attended Boston University Law School. As a Republican, Brooke was elected attorney general of Massachusetts in 1962. He achieved fame for leading the investigation that apprehended the Boston Strangler. Senator Brooke was re-elected in 1972.
"I have lived as a Republican and shall die as a Republican, because I believe in the principles of the Republican Party... The Republican Party has given me eight nominations for elected office. And you have given the greatest and most wonderful opportunities of my life, to serve the Commonwealth and serve this nation." -- Edward Brooke, 2006
Michael Zak is a popular speaker to Republican organizations around the country, showing office-holders, candidates and activists how they would benefit tremendously from knowing and appreciating our Party's heritage of civil rights achievement. See www.republicanbasics.com for more information about the Republican Party and about the book, Back to Basics for the Republican Party, which shows Republicans how to campaign against Democrats more effectively.

I am looking for a mailing address for Senator Brooke. During world war two he was stationed in Onawa, Maine as a member of an all Negro guard unit to guard the railroad trestle. I have been looking for years for an address for him, as I would like to send him a book that a whole chapter pertains to that, he is mentioned in the chapter in detail.
